Fully Qualified Pilates InstructorsLauren BannisterREPs Level 3 Pilates TeacherLauren has been working in the Sports & Fitness Industry for over fifteen years and is qualified to teach a number of sports including Athletics (Level 2 coach), Netball (Level 1-2), Swimming, Self Defense, and Kick Aerobics. Lauren also holds a diploma in Sports Psychology. She spent ten years working in America and Europe as a Skydiving Instructor and as a United States Parachute Association Freefall Instructor Examiner before coming back to England with her family in 1996. She then took her qualifications as an RSA Fitness Instructor, Circuits Instructor and Personal Trainer. Lauren is also a qualified Nutritionist.
It was at this time that she was introduced to Pilates and became an immediate devotee. She studied Pilates locally
before qualifying to teach Matwork with the Body Control
Pilates Association in London in 2000. She has since qualified to teach the Intermediate and Advanced Matwork levels and holds the Matwork Master Teacher (honours) Certification. At the renowned Brighton Studio, she qualified to instruct Classical
Pilates and she also holds the full qualification 'Pregnancy &
Exercise'. In 2001, Lauren completed her Pilates Gravity Reformer
Equipment qualifications with the London based Pilates Advanced
Training and Research Academy (PATARA). She also holds the Body Control
Pilates Association Reformer
and Cadillac (honours) qualifications. She has since attended a variety of teaching courses to
instruct on specific Pilates equipment such as barrels, chairs and small equipment. Lauren also works on the Body Control
Pilates Association Teaching Panel as the Supervising Teacher
in the Warwickshire area, tutoring trainee teachers prior to and during
their formal Matwork qualification courses in London. She is also a Supervising Teacher for the BCPA on the reformer and cadillac.
Lauren is the Director of Stratford Pilates Centre® which opened in 2000. She is a dedicated Pilates teacher, who believes in on-going training for herself and staff, and travels to Pilates training seminars annually in order to keep her knowledge, teaching skills and Instructor ratings current. She has built up a reputation over the years and Doctors, Osteopaths and other clinical practitioners recommend Stratford Pilates Centre to their patients as part of their rehabilitation. Lauren has 12 daytime / evening matwork classes a week at the Matwork Studio in Stratford Town Centre and she teaches in the Equipment Studio at Limes Avenue when classes are not in session. In 2006, Lauren took over the post of Pilates Teacher to the RSC at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon. She is also in demand as a Pilates consultant. In July 2008, Lauren qualified as a Powerplate Instructor and is on the teaching staff at Movers and Shapers, 10 Union Street, Stratford-upon-Avon. Melanie, originally trained as an Engineer, graduating with a B'Eng (Hons) in Production Engineering. She subsequently spent 16 years working in Information Technology with British Airways and Sun Microsystems, both in the UK and the US. In
January 2000, Melanie was introduced to Pilates after suffering from
Myalgic Encephalopathy (M.E) for 10 years. She found that attending
regular classes improved her mobility, co-ordination and general
well-being. Over the following 4 years, she continued her development
in the Body Control
Pilates In February 2005, Melanie qualified as a Pilates Matwork Teacher with BCPA, and has worked with Lauren since this time. Melanie has also qualified with the BCPA to teach 'Pilates and Pregnancy' and 'Intermediate Matwork'. In 2007, Melanie completed her Body Control Pilates Reformer qualification, following with the Body Control Pilates Cadillac qualification in 2009. She is currently working towards the Matwork Master Teacher Certification. Master Melanie co-hosts Matwork Workshops and takes equipment sessions with Stratford Pilates Centre.
